Here's my astrology chart:

As you can see, I'm very, very Libra. I don't know enough about astrology to know if it means anything that Saturn was retrograde when I was born. At least it wasn't Mercury.

| Up early |
[05 Dec 2008|08:51am] |
I was actually up at 8 am this morning, a minor miracle considering how I'm feeling.
Going to see my psychiatrist, Dr. S, at 1 pm. Perhaps we'll try adjusting one of my other medications (the rapid heart rate is still a real concern for me, because so far the metoprolol doesn't seem to be reining it in).
Today I tackle the home stretch of my current project, hoping to finish it by late this evening.
And hey, look... dragons.

Someone from HAND is supposed to come by this afternoon for some cleaning assistance... this is a pinch-hitter, not someone permanent. But it should be a help.
UPS is delivering my package from ThinkGeek (my 2009 calendar and a steampunk-skeleton shirt) today also. When those two events are over, I need to go downtown and get copies of some paperwork and mail it to the lawyer I talked to at Advocacy Inc. While I'm out I'll be dropping off a package for arcaneblades. The part of downtown I'll be in isn't really known for stores, which precludes retail therapy... well, we'll see how early I'm able to get downtown.
Speaking of buying things, BPAL's Butter Rum Cookie goes plasticy on me :( I am glad I only got an imp's worth from a decant circle... and Gelt, which I did get a bottle of, is wonderful on me.
I wish I could just take some valium and sleep. But I have the HAND woman, UPS, and the copying/mailing to do. So instead I have cocoa. It will be a day of mush cocoa.

It's like they WANT to incapacitate me.

In addition to talking to the Austin Tenants' Council this morning, Advocacy Inc. called me back this evening; I need to go get copies of the probation paperwork and the letter from my caseworker stating that I'm disabled & need reasonable accomodation to mail to them. Also, my MHMR caseworker called back, and she's gonna call the manager.
*slump* this is so draining.

Ok, so yesterday I called Advocacy, Inc and did an intake interview, called HAND and got an appointment for emergency cleaning help for tomorrow, and called my caseworker at MHMR and the Family Self-Sufficiency Specialist and never heard back.
This morning I called the Austin Tenants' Council's Fair Housing Program and gave my info to the woman there and should get a call back from their intake person, and called the FSS woman again and caught her this time, explained my situation, and she should be calling me back.
Of course, I'm fucking phone-phobic and need to take valium after all that... which means I can't get much actual cleaning done (really, that goes for the stress of the whole situation). Talk about counterproductive!

Keane - Spiralling |
] |
You know, I see the advantages of adding albums of artists that I'm pretty sure that I like without listening to them and then the songs just surprise me randomly, because I've just heard "Spiralling" by Keane, and the song hit me right at the heart, I love it when a song does that to me.. it hits me intensely and just won't let go, because it came on right when I was making my new Aiike(Ike) icon and it just came on and it was absolutely perfect and fit exactly the mood of the icon. So yes, I really should do that you know, just randomly add albums.
Though all the music I have added have paid off. I mean I sort of got rid of ALOT of seiyuu songs that are unneeded, now when I listen to my ipod, I don't hear row upon row of Japanese music.
Though I'm okay with the music that I keep on my playlist, because I keep it for a reason.
Aiike is so very cute, I adore playing a Warden, it's so much fun and their sheilds are so wicked awesome! I had to get on regular computer to make the icon but I'm going back upstairs to play. Whee.

i am absolutely horrible at doing these, but i've decided to get another journal after i left a few months ago! my name is kathleen, and i'm seventeen years old and a senior. i'm pretty excited to be leaving home, as i recently got my acceptance letterto sagniaw valley state university where i plan to go in the fall. oh, i live in michigan and i truly don't understand it. the snow and coldness, just doesn't work for me! i ramble a lot, i don't drink/smoke/do drugs/have sex and have lost friends because of that. the television shows that i watch religously are: desperate housewives, brothers and sisters, one tree hill, greek, private practice, grey's anatomy, gossip girl, priveledged, 90210 and i used to watch general hospital everyday. currently, i'm in my schools musical - west side story as 'clarice' and if i had to tell you anything about her, i couldn't. she doesn't even speak, but she's a main dancer. it doesn't bother me, i love dancing and singing! there's definetly more to know about me and by the way, i love britney spears and twilight (but mostly just jasper). i'm apart of my schools yearbook staff also and it'll be most of my ranting. being an editor isn't easy. add me, i'm nice and entertaining i swear!

The frickin' apartment complex manager put me on probation for failing my housekeeping inspection; basically meaning she can evict me when she pleases. So I spent the past half hour talking to the intake guy at Advocacy, Inc, and leaving messages with my caseworker at MHMR and my contact at HAND. Also tried reaching the HACA Family Self-Sufficiency Specialist, but I don't have much faith in her.
I might wind up having to spend the money I've saved toward an Eee to get a maid service to go over my place, but I have the suspicion that even that wouldn't satisfy this bitch. She has the letter from my caseworker documenting my disability, she knows HAND is looking for an aide for me, and she doesn't give a shit.
It was a very good thing I was going in to touch up my cutting today. It helped keep me from doing some dumbass shit like cutting myself. Took some Valium, hopefully that'll put me out for a while.

| I can has awake? |
[03 Dec 2008|05:38am] |
Going downtown to get my cutting touched up today, so I can't sleep until 7 pm again. Caffiene should happen soon. Go downtown, get protein-rich lunch (I'm thinkin' a gyro at Cozzoli's), go to the post office, walk down to Industrial Primitives and get sliced, and if I feel up to it, go to the grocery store for a few things after.
A few words on the book I just read, because I got it from simon_saysuk! First, I really suck at reviews of any sort. Really, really suck at it. But the matter at hand: Generation Dead, by Daniel Waters. It can be neatly summed up as an afterschool special with zombies. Basically, for no reason that is ever explained, American teenagers are coming back from the dead, and they're the newest oppressed minority. This comes off a little heavy-handed at times, thus the whole 'afterschool special' vibe. But it's an enjoyable book, with characters that ring true (both the alive and the 'differently biotic'). There's a dead boy who goes out for the football team, the gothy (living) girl who goes out with him, and the story kind of spirals outward from them. It's not life-changing and I don't expect it to have a fandom, but I was pleased to see that a sequel is due to be released in May. It's an engaging read, and Circe is currently informing me that it makes an excellent cat pillow.

A fun little meme while I'm waiting for my bedsheets to get out of the drier (because once they go out, then I start playing more of my cute little Warden named Aiike (named for Ike from Fire Emblem).
"Be Pete Wentz" meme:
1. Put your music player on shuffle 2. The first lines of twenty songs = a poem; the first line of the twenty-first song is the title
"From My Boat I Can See Your House"
"Looking down I see what was, a place I lived just because It doesn't hurt me, do you want to feel how it feels?
It's been nine days eight hours fourty minutes ten seconds since you called You live inside a dream.. everything taste so sweet as long as it agrees with how you feel
Like to get to know you well Take me down six underground, the ground beneath your feet Where the scene begins a little girl is crying.
Comatose, almost.. you've got me dreaming Satallite in my eyes like a diamond in the sky.
If I had to live my life without you near me, Please leave all overcoats canes and top hats with the doorman; Bombs are flying.
The streets turn me inside out, Under the dog star sail. All this feels strange and untrue, Couldn't save you from the stars.
Wake me up, You come out at night. Cold winds blow around me and I can't help but think of you, Your own personal jesus."
All but the fifth line makes sense to me, trufax.

hey my name is rissa, I love a lot of things, but mainly you'll find me obsessing over a few TV shows such as Queer As Folk, Dead Like Me, Degrassi, Drake & Josh, and South Of Nowhere. I also love Bam Margera, and CKY... but not because of eachother. I also love Simple Plan. They've been my favourite band since forever ago, and I've seen them about 20 times now in concert and I travel to Canada to see them often! I love to travel and go to concerts. I also really really like Cobra Starship. And new recent obsession is Hey Monday. I love girls as lead singers in bands, but I don't like Paramore all that much--shhhhhh! Ummm, let's see what else? I love Drake Bell like more than life sometimes. I want to marry him, and I really shouldn't say that, but it's the truth. Hahaha, but no really I shouldn't, I'm actually a lesbian, who just so happens to have the hugest crush on Drake. But uhh anyway, that's all my interest - or well what is important to me. Oh and we can't forget - yes, I am one of those people that is interested in Twilight, and yes I am quite obsessed! ;-) I love to write! I also love to create graphics and animated .gifs! I don't really have any other hobbies unless you consider website design one of them and the fact that I really love to play soccer and I can't because I never have time or the money to join a league. :( I'm just looking for new friends because...it's cool. I love to comment people and I love when people share the same interests as me. If you think I'm cool then I'll always end up thinking you're cool of course. Definitely add me, I'm really looking forward to making new friends for the holiday season and into the new year!!

But I feel cheated! James Earl Jones and his hot hypno-voice of I WILL OBEY have not been governor... YET.

HolyClothing had an extremely limited sale of 100 items that were going for $9.99 each. I was able to score a pretty blouse in black. They're also offering free shipping (on any order, any size order) today so I bought a black skirt as well.
ThinkGeek has a one-day free shipping offer as well, for orders $25 and over with the code CYBERMONDAY. Great time to get those cases of Bawls, people! I'd already planned to get the Despair, Inc. calendar and they had the awesome cool steampunk skeleton on sale for $9.99 (in sizes from small to 3X! I'm sure some of you would like that!), so that worked out damn near perfectly.
So, set back a little on my Eee fund, but not too badly.

| Canadian government toppled! |
[30 Nov 2008|10:01pm] |
Well, not yet. But the Liberals and the NDP are joining forces in an attempt to overthrown Stephen Harper's minority Conservative government.
From http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/11/30/canada-coalition.html:
The NDP and Liberals have reached a deal to topple the minority Conservative government and take power themselves in a coalition, CBC News has learned.
A deal has been negotiated between NDP Leader Jack Layton and Liberal Leader Stéphane Dion that would see them form a coalition government for two and a half years, the CBC's Keith Boag reported, citing sources.
The NDP would be invited into cabinet and get 25 per cent of seats, Boag said, adding that the party wouldn't get the position of the finance chair or the deputy prime minister's post.
"That's the big step forward tonight," Boag reported.
The Bloc Québécois wouldn't be a part of the coalition, but would have to support it, he said.
"The most difficult question is who'll be the leader," Boag said, adding that Dion, who negotiated the deal, believes he has the right to be prime minister.
Opposition parties say they have lost confidence in the government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper after Thursday's economic update by Finance Minister Jim Flaherty failed to provide a stimulus package for Canadians.
Since then, the Liberals have been in negotiations to form a coalition with the NDP, and the concessions made by the Conservatives this weekend have done nothing to change the party's view that Harper must go.
There's one week to go to a non-confidence vote.
Will the Conservatives be able to wiggle out of this one? I doubt it.
